Wine By Joe is GOLDEN!

The 2007 Newport Seafood and Wine Festival Commercial Wine Competition awards Wine By Joe two gold medals! “Winemaker, Joe Dobbes, had a very good day at the Competition: his own Wine By Joe label picked up two Golds for a 2005 Pinot Noir and a 2005 Pinot Blanc.” The 2005 Wine By Joe Pinot Gris won a bronze medal in the competition. Also newsworthy is that Best-of-Show went to Salem area's Trinity Vineyards 2004 Pinot Noir and a gold medal went to Southern Oregon’s Cliff Creek 2004 Syrah; wines that Joe crafts through his custom winemaking services offered by Wine By Joe, LLC.

2005 Wine By Joe Pinot Gris Receives Recognition

Wine Press Northwest writer, Eric Degerman, bestowed a "Recommended" rating on the 2005 Wine By Joe Pinot Gris in his recent article "Pinot Gris: Oregon's king of whites rules in the Northwest". Eric writes, "Joe Dobbes delivers aromas of delicious pear, apple pie spice, clover honey and a pinch of star anise, leading into flavors of pear and citrus that are backed by rich acidity. It leans toward the dry side with a finish of apricot pit, making it especially deserving of the dinner table."
